  1. I can guarantee you that the opinions of a few people on a park fansite will have no bearing whatsoever on the fate of a "record breaking coaster" that has proven to be one of the park's biggest headaches.
  2. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/imamcajBEJs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Oh, wait.
  3. I remember how tube socks were the rage in those days-another 70's fashion statement. Anyway, Paul, would love to see photos if you have them of The Beast queue house by where the photo booth now stands. You certainly have a treasure trove of photos.
  4. My goodness, was a paint job ever just a paint job? Honestly, how on earth do you link a new coat of paint to a new coaster? Just stand back and examine how stupid that is.
  5. My first time I went to King's island was right around 02' and or 03' I remember Tomb Raider was a pretty new ride and I waited for about 2-3 hours to ride it. Sadly I wasn't very impressed with it ( Not counting the theme that was top notch!) but my heart was stolen the second time I rode the Flight of Fear.. TopGun1993 could you please find some more pictures of Kings Island right around that time 02' and 03' I really would love to see it like it was almost a decade even tho it really didn't change that much sense then haha. But all of these pictures are great Even if they just go back a year they are still a great way to reflect the memories. I have to say 2010 was my favorite year while 2011 wasn't! But Gosh, I was blown away by the Flight of Fear's still to this day If I can dig up some of the photo's we have taken at King's Island our self's I will send some your way! Keep up the good work!
  6. I think I have a few FOF one's but I'm sure you've seen most of them. I remember how tube socks were the rage in those days-another 70's fashion statement. Anyway, Paul, would love to see photos if you have them of the Beast queue house by where the photo booth now stands. You certainly have a treasure trove of photos. Trust me I've been searching for early Beast queue house photos, and came up dry. except a few photos where you can make it out slightly. Dat Bat Photo #51 - Adventure Express Concept Artwork
  7. Nothing will ever remind me more of KI than the Top Gun soundtrack. A year there hearing those 10 songs over and over is something I dont think I could forget.
  8. ^Candidate for post of the year. The ride has been sitting unused for multiple seasons now. Oh hey, who wrote on the wall?
  9. I Feel for you by Chaka Khan is another. Remember the adorable kitties on the TVs in the queue lines when that song played? ha..
  10. Theme from Mission Impossible Star Trek Next Generation theme My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion (Titanic...) Monster by The Automatic to name a few..
  11. So, just to summarize: that was Disneyland, and there were kids there.
  12. Such wonderful demographics they bring. I don't think the Kochs are used to dealing with some of the inner city demos that park attracted.
  13. Photo #50 - Beast Tunnel 1
  14. If or when they fix/destroy SoB, I would seriously pay for a piece of wood from that ride. I think that it is an incredibly ride that has a lot of wonderful memories in my mind.
  15. Thats a terrible idea on the parks part. Gold is extremely soft and very malleable. As soon as that first train hits the lift that link is going to stretch and break. Someone should probably warn them.
  16. From what I heard, Flight of Fear is also being repainted. Here's a panoramic thumbnail picture: █████ I also heard that the anniversary of Vortex will be celebrated by installing a gold link in the lift chain. Not verified.
  17. I personally would welcome this back. I'm all for a more open feel. While I love trees and the shade, I-Street just seems stuffy to me.
  18. Does anyone know why and when The Racer's exit was changed?
  19. They may be difficult, but they're not rigged.
  20. Didn't ride it much, but always enjoyed the monorail and animals so would choose 1974 on this one, although I have to admit I am surprised that the track came toward what is now Action Zone as far as it did. I always thought it was further back, although the sketch in TombraiderTy's thread http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23540&view=findpost&p=421006 seems to show it coming into the Skyflyer area (although maybe not as far as Drop Tower). You can see in this pic how The Racer's exit was originally on the opposite side Thanks - I knew someone would have a quick and correct answer. Although this picture does raise a question for me - I've talked to The Interpreter about Racer in its early years before and believe he has said that he thought at one time Racer loaded from the outside and exited from the middle of the station. This picture sure looks like it shows loading from the middle and exiting from the outside (although the exit is on the Subway/Monster side of the queue house - which I remember from my 80's visits). Final thought on the picture - another ride is shown (Tumble Bug) that unfortunately made way for a basketball game.
